L'ombra dell'affaire Faurlin agita le notti dei tifosi del QPR in questi giorni che invece tutti vorrebbero dedicare alla rincorsa di una promozione che ormai manca da 15 anni.
L'ultima sparata è di oggi e la riporta il The Sun che parla di una decisione ormai presa dalla FA in merito ai presunti illeciti legati all'ingaggio del centrocampista argentino Farulin nel 2009. Una decisone veramente scioccante: una penalizzazione di 15 punti.
Questo non solo priverebbe gli Hoops della matematica promozione nel massimo campionato inglese, ma ne metterebbe a serio rischio pure la qualificazione per i play off, visto che attualmente la squadra sesta in classifica (il Nottingham Forest) ha 'solo' 16 punti meno dei Rangers.
Una decisione pazzesca ed incredibile, se si considera che viene giudicato un fatto avvenuto nel 2009 ed ancor più perchè la sentenza sarà emessa solo il 6 maggio prossimo, il giorno prima dell'ultima giornata di campionato.
Che la FA possa però prendere veramente una decisione del genere, la prima nel suo genere, appare veramente impensabile ma lo 'scoop' del Sun ha creato notevole scompiglio in UK tanto che sia la stessa FA che i QPR hanno dovuto emettere un comunicato ufficiale nel quale smentiscono quanto riportato dal tabloid.
Il comunicato ufficiale degli Hoops recita così: "Il Club è a conoscenza della storia stampata dal quotidiano The Sun di oggi (Venerdì 29 aprile 2011), ma non farà alcuna dichiarazione ulteriore. Sia il club che la Football Association hanno deciso di non fare alcun commento sulla questione fino a dopo la sentenza".
Il Sun invece cita un virgolettato di una 'fonte' interna alla FA: "Non ci sono dubbi che il QPR abbia infranto le regole, e lo sanno bene anche loro. L'unico dubbio è quale punizione comminare. Se non venissero riconosciuti colpevoli tutti si sentirebbero liberi di infrangere le regole in merito ai pagamenti alle terze parti".
Come andrà a finire?
Per ora conviene concentrarci sul campo, visto che la promozione va pur sempre conquistata, dopo che comunque abbiamo dimostrato di meritarla, e poi vedremo cosa succederà.
La convinzione che la FA sia sì severa ma non folle spinge comunque ad essere ottimisti.
